Protect Yourself

Renting? You should give some thought to protecting yourself with a Massachusetts Renters Insurance Policy. YOUR LANDLORDS POLICY DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING:

1. Your personal belongings - Electronics, clothing, etc.

2. Personal liability and medical costs - That accidental slip, fall or other forms of injury. These costs add up quick and can become extremely expensive.

Most local insurance companies offer renters insurance with various levels of coverage. You also see landlords more frequently requiring tenants to hold a renters insurance policy.

If you want information, please call us and we can point you in the right direction.

The Sound of Construction

If you live or work in South Boston you’ve noticed the closed streets, redirected traffic, the relentless jackhammering and countless other loud noises that seem to start earlier and earlier each morning.

Rehabs, replacement of old gas lines, knockdowns and new construction are the norm here in South Boston but is that bad? Despite the inconvenience of less parking, sleeping and access to the roads we live this is good. Turn on the news these days and most of the talk revolves around economic growth and when real estate will rebound. While other communities are struggling around the country the real estate market is alive and well here in South Boston.

Talking to Real Estate Agents throughout the city and the story seems too be the same, people want to call Southie home, and who wouldn’t. The neighborhood is a hit with both life long residents and transplants alike.  The centralized location, neighborhood feel a rush of new restaurants and shops and oh yeah...a beach steps from your door.

With over 400 properties sold in the last 6 months the inventory is moving! Everybody wants in!

Give Capital Residential a call and make Southie your home!

Home is Where the Heart is

“You can take the Girl out of South but you can’t take the Southie out of the Girl” Even if you move away from South Boston, it has a way of staying with you.  One former Southie girl, Malena Luongo from East Third Street, moved to L.A., but Southie blood still ran though her veins.  Her love of her hometown inspired her to create an original print to represent her favorite childhood places.  These posters can be customized to represent your hometown favorite places too!!! They come in two sizes and all different colors.

"I wanted to stay connected to my roots in Southie so I created a poster to hang in my apartment. When I posted the picture on Facebook, everyone loved it, so I opened and Etsy shop and put them up for sale."

This poster would make the perfect gift for Southie residents past and present.  If you just bought or rented a new place and want something to remember home, this is the poster for you!

To purchase your Southie poster visit:http://www.etsy.com/shop/wearebornandraised

Rumor Has It: Southie's Latest Additions

The Eastside of South Boston proudly presents Tasty Burger, formerly The Boat House, on L Street.  Tasty Burger is set to open sometime this week.  Perfect timing for a burger joint, because once Sully’s closes at the end of October, good burgers are hard to come by in Southie.  Tasty Burger is reasonably priced, with burgers starting at $4 dollars; they also offer hotdogs and shakes.  Food will be served thru a take-out window, which really gives it a cool 50’s vibe.  Hours of operation are Sunday-Thursday 8am-11pm on the weekends they will be open until 12am. So whether you want a burger for breakfast or after a couple of beers, they are officially here to serve you.

Wait!! There’s more!!  Not in the mood for a burger, then wander down to the West Side of South Boston for some pizza. Pizza Pie-er, formerly Kelley’s Tavern, on Old Colony is set to open at the end of the month. Pizza Pie-er, offers gourmet thin crust pizza with and endless array of toppings and pizza combinations.   Open seven-days-a-week, Sunday-Monday from 11am-10pm, on the weekends you can grab yourself a pizza up until midnight.

Having lived in South Boston my entire life, it gives me great pleasure to see our community thriving. Southie is where it is at!!
