Get the Ombre on your Walls!!
From fashion to home decor, I haven’t totally been a fan of the ombre look.I do love it in hair though – have you seen that look? If not – google it. It really looks great on some people!
But anyway, we’re not talking hair today. We’re talking ombre walls. From P.S. I made this… comes this vibrant turquoise ombre wall. As I was saying, I haven’t really loved the look in accessories or outfits, but I’m really loving the look of this wall. It adds such a whimsical dynamic while still keeping it classy. Plus, the pop of turquoise isn’t overwhelming as it fades.
What do you think of this Ombre wall? Are you loving the look as I am or not feeling it?
Home Staging 101
Last week, I took a two-day home staging course...it is amazing all you can learn in just two days! Especially when part of it is hands on experience.
If you are about to put your home on the market, and do not have the time or extra money to take a course, use these hightlights to make a huge difference...
- Begin to refer to your "home" as a "house." Your home is of course filled with meaninful keepsakes, personal photos, and your own unique style. It's time to de-personalize and make this a house that appeals to the masses
- Any item you have on display that is smaller than a bowling ball needs to go (in the staging world, it is referred to as "room dandruff")
- Use the power of three. Three items is the most appealing to the eye, when arranging items on a shelf, try to group them in threes, all with different heights.
- CLEAN! To the point where it looks like a professional came in and took charge!
- Put neutral colors on the walls and floors. To add color, use "moveable color..." i.e. pillows, throws, art, and accessories. Did you know...you CAN paint wallaper!
- Tidy up outside: clear walkways, touch up paint, clean cobwebs, use greens. Goal is too make the yard look effortless!
Hope these tips are helpful, feel free to contact me with any questions or further tips!

Attention South Boston Sellers!!!
Sellers on a Budget:
The secret to successful pre-sale home remodeling is to keep up with the Jones', but never surpass them. Whether you want to make more money than you spend, or just recoup your remodeling expenses when you sell your home, know what's standard in the neighborhood.
The main things to keep in mind when remodeling are: neutral, clean, and classic. That will always recoup your money. Quick fixes that add the most value for the least amount of money is interior paint, flooring and light fixtures. Sprucing up the front of the house is also cheap and in my opinion, essential. A couple of planters and a quick sweep will do wonders!!
Before you pick up a hammer, stop by some of Capital Residential Groups Open Houses and any other Open Houses’ being held in South Boston. This will give you a better idea as to what finishes your neighbors may be using in their homes. Never be the last homeowner on the block to remodel. Buyers will pass up your property in favor of the one down the street where everything is already updated; this makes your home sell slower and for far less money.
Take a break: we'll clean for you!
Born and raised in South Boston, Dinna Sinkus, has just started her very own Cleaning Company, "A Clean Break". If you have ever frequented the Boston Beer Garden in South Boston, I'm sure you have crossed paths with her, considering she was a bartender up there for years.
She's honest, reliable and hardworking. We can all use a break from one thing or another. Why not take a break from house work!!
Her website, www.a-clean-break.com, will be up and running within the week. In the mean time, she can be reached via email dblcean2012@gmail.com or on her cell, 617-840-3385.
More than one option but only one choice!
In today's crazy real estate market, especially here in South Boston where once proud 2 and 3 families stood tall, there are now signs everywhere advertising luxury condos! Rents are sky high, and they continue to rise, while the supply is super low . The million dollar question that you ask - do I rent or buy? Here in South Boston, a town that has enough realtors to make your head spin, you have more than one option. But there should be only one choice when it comes to real estate. That choice is Capital Residential Group (CRG).

Single in the City???
Are you tired of the invites to everyone else's wedding showers, baby showers, engagement parties, weddings, etc.? What if you are single or don't have babies on the near horizon? Just because it's not in your immediate or long term future, why shouldn't you reap the benefits of all the gifts that you always seem to be getting for everyone else.
That's what my family and friends did for me several years ago when I was purchasing my first condo......by myself. Not only was the prospect of being a first time homeowner overwhelming, the thought of filling my home with all the essentials was putting me over the edge.
So my family and friends got together to throw me a "Home Shower". I even had the joy of registering for items that I really wanted and more importantly, needed. It was a great event and 13 years later, I still have many of the household gifts. It made the transition to living on my own so much easier, not to mention is was a great time.
So don't be shy, send this blog to your family and friends if you are planning on moving to your first place, regardless if you are renting or buying. It's time that you got back some of the good fortune you have always showered upon your loved ones.
