Each area of South Boston has had new, high end rentals come on the market in recent weeks. WaterSide Place, a 236 unit building located in the Seaport, has started accepting tenants. In Fort Point, 315 on A, another high end luxury building, has also started accepting tenants.
On the West Side of South Boston, West Square, located at 320 D Street, was recently completed and West Side Crossing, located at 339 D Street, will also be ready for February Occupancy.
With 4 high end rental buildings coming on the market in such close proximity, it will be interesting to see if there is enough demand from high end renters.

For the first time in a few years, the South Boston rental market is slowing down. There has been so much demand to move to Southie that the apartment supply couldn't keep up and it often ended up in several applications for one apartment and in some cases, a bidding war.
That quickly changed early in August as a slew of apartments hit the market and created an over-supply just as the seasonal demand had started to slow.
The combination of rising prices, falling demand, and and over-supply of South Boston rentals has now forced many owners to quickly and aggressively slash their rental prices.
If you have been thinking about making the move to South Boston, October and November 1st will be great times to finally make the move as property owners don't want to have a vacant apartment heading into the slow winter months.

It’s that time of year again, everyone scrambling to find their new place for September 1st. I’ve had a ton of clients ask me, if they are looking too early. I think June is the best time to secure your rental for September 1st. Most landlords ask their tenants to inform them the beginning of June, as to whether or not they plan on renewing their leases. With that being said, what is on the market this month, will be the majority of what is available to you come September. We have plenty of September Rentals, please feel free to contact my office or me personally, we would love to assist you in any way we can!!

It’s that time of year again; the rental market in South Boston is back with a vengeance!! I myself do not see prices dropping anytime soon. Times have certainly changed in Southie as far as rent prices. Right now a 3 bedroom can rent anywhere from $1000 up to $1500 per bedroom! After you add in all of the fees, you might as well put a down payment on a condo!

South Boston is forever changing and a lot of that change has come along D Street. There's the West Square, which promises 225 units with 255 parking spaces, which takes the entire block between C and D streets, from West 1st to West 2nd, 411 D Street, which will add an additional 197 apartments. There is even talk of a couple of hotels going in near the convention center!! Where there is land there is Construction!! Having lived in South Boston my entire life, seeing the changes first hand is incredible. What was once referred to as the West Side or Lower End, is now more expensive than living on Farragut Road! South Boston is the place to be, hence why I’ve never left!!
